The SS-OCT Biometer ARGOS® Optical Biometer has been designed to maximize the clinician’s ease-of-use while delivering superior precision. This non-invasive, non-contact optical biometer outperformed its competitors in clinical trials.

ARGOS® streamlined the process of acquiring biometric parameters. It delivers:

  • The highest success rate and accuracy, even among the densest of cataracts
  • Precise ocular biometry for accurate selection of IOLs
  • Contact-free measurement using SS-OCT (Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography)

"After using ARGOS for the past several months, I am very happy.... It measures dense cataracts that other biometers do not."

Dr. Daniel Kim, Medical Director, St. Mary’s Eye & Surgery Center, Palisades Park, NJ

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL

ARGOS outperformed the competition in clinical trials of dense cataracts. The OCT technique used in ARGOS provides 100x greater sensitivity over other light-based biometers.

ACCURATE

Intuitive 2D OCT imaging provides high confidence in accuracy. Using the reflected image from a ring of 16 IR LEDs in combination with the OCT signal provides accurate corneal curvature results.

FAST

Image acquisition for biometry and keratometry takes less than 1 second. ARGOS captures 6 images in less than a second and outputs 3 sets of results with calculated average and standard deviation values.

HOW IT WORKS

Optical Biometry made easy. See more, evaluate better.

MEASURMENT

The ARGOS biometer is controlled through Windows-based user interface. The technician is easily guided to reach alignment through tracking markers and the unique 2D image window guide. Accurate measurements begin with the touch of joystick-mounted button.

Real-time 2D image brings confidence to biometric parameter capture

ANALYSIS MODE

After measurement, the technician can assess the validity of the measurement by referring to the 2D image and signal. Analysis Mode includes the option to manually adjust boundary positions for fine tuning.

DENSE CATARACT MODE

ARGOS has 10x higher sensitivity than conventional partial coherence reflectometry devices. In Dense Cataract Mode, it can increase sensitivity up to 100x for axial length detection, resulting in significantly improved success rates.

SUMMARY

Biometry values output in convenient ready to print format.

IOL POWER CALCULATIONS

Streamline advanced IOL calculations with sophisticated astigmatic management tools.

SS-OCT. This 2D whole eye imaging provides 100% accuracy and lets you check on the type of cataract.

The exam is quick and comfortable. Instead of relying on harsh light or an invasive ultrasound, ARGOS uses a ring of 16 infrared (IR) LEDs in combination with the OCT signal to achieve accurate corneal curvature results.

ARGOS measures 9 parameters- all in under a second.

  • Axial length
  • Corneal thickness
  • Anterior chamber depth
  • Lens thickness
  • Pupil size
  • Corneal diameter
  • K-value (Flat): K1
  • K-value (Steep): K2
  • Toric angle
